Our World Cargo business is one of the key players in the freight transport industry and a vital part of our success through the revenue it generates. Like our passenger service, it aims to deliver a premium experience every time.
It’s an independent unit with its own departments operating globally, including marketing, sales, revenue management, finance, logistics, operations and network planning. To join it, you should be career-focused on the challenges of running a premium global airfreight operation, bringing your motivation for a logistics business area and relevant skills and capabilities to bear on this role.
Over three years, you’ll experience the pressures and rewards of a business that carries over half a million tonnes of cargo annually, coupled with the global scale of the airline itself. You’ll complete roles in both corporate and logistical operational areas, concentrating on the business demands and your own development needs. Throughout, you’ll be supported by your programme and line managers.
Often working closely with the central functions, regional and global teams, you’ll be an ambassador for the World Cargo brand. In return we’ll make sure you receive the coaching and development you deserve from a dedicated three-year programme. You’ll gain key business capabilities, from being a competent people manager recognising and rewarding high performance, and dealing with poor performance, through to solving complex analytical issues. Project work could look at logistical efficiency and management, distribution and transportation or warehousing. You’ll also have the opportunity to travel and will gain valuable exposure to all aspects of the business.
You should hold a 2:1 degree (or equivalent), ideally with a logistics focus, and must have the right to live and work in the UK and travel overseas. There is also a requirement for you to pass a Criminal Record Check at a Basic Disclosure level.
